Weekend
and "let down" headaches are a common phenomenon
that make your leisure time very unpleasant. Some people
experience most of their headaches on weekends, when
they have a feeling of less stress. Others will experience
it when a very stressful period of time has just ended,
like the end of a school year or after a very difficult
interpersonal time. These are known as "let down" headaches
and sometimes can be prevented with some of the lower
end rescue medications.
Weekend headaches are sometimes more
complex. They can be due to a combination of triggers,
including oversleeping, caffeine withdrawal or "let
down". In addition, weekends are often a time for people
to go to restaurants and increase their exposure to
food triggers.
Suggestion:
track your headaches on a calendar and see if there
is a pattern and correlate it with diet, exercise, sleeping
schedule.
